Custom AI & Generative AI Development
Packaged AI features cover the common cases well. The work that moves the numbers is usually specific to how your organisation operates — the seventeen document types your intake team handles, the classification scheme only your sector uses, the approval chain nobody has documented.
Our development teams build these end to end: data pipelines, model layer, application, integration with the systems of record, and the evaluation harness that proves it still works after the next change.
Platforms we typically deliver this on
Scope of the service
Intelligent document processing
Extraction, validation and routing across mixed-format documents — forms, invoices, applications, correspondence and scanned records.
Generative AI applications
Drafting, summarisation and question-answering grounded in your own content, with citations back to source and human review where it matters.
Classification and triage
Routing cases, tickets, applications and correspondence against your own taxonomy, with confidence thresholds and human escalation.
Forecasting and predictive models
Demand, capacity, risk and utilisation models built on your historical data, with the accuracy honestly characterised.
Conversational and voice interfaces
Assistants for staff and public-facing services, integrated with authentication and with clear handoff to a human.
Evaluation harnesses
Test sets, scoring rubrics and regression gates delivered with the system so quality is measured rather than assumed.
Where this is used
Representative engagements, described at the level our clients permit. Sector and shape are accurate; identifying detail is withheld.
Automating intake for a high-volume application process
A programme receiving tens of thousands of applications a year processed them by hand. We built extraction and validation against the submitted forms with confidence-based routing — clean submissions flow through, ambiguous ones go to an officer with the uncertain fields highlighted.
Outcome — Officer time redirected from transcription to the cases that need judgement.
A grounded assistant for student administration
Front-line staff were answering the same policy questions from documents scattered across a dozen systems. We built an assistant that answers from approved sources only, cites the clause it used, and says it does not know rather than guessing.
Outcome — Answers traceable to a source document, which is what made it approvable.
Structuring unstructured clinical correspondence
Referral letters arrived as free text and PDFs and were re-keyed into the patient administration system. We built extraction into structured fields with a review step before anything is written back.
Outcome — Re-keying removed while every write to the record stayed under human approval.
Before you get in touch
Do you fine-tune models or use retrieval?
Retrieval first in most cases — it is cheaper, easier to update and easier to audit. We fine-tune where the task is narrow, stable and high volume, and we will explain which applies to you.
How do you handle hallucination risk?
Grounding in approved sources, citation of the source used, confidence thresholds, human review for consequential actions, and an evaluation suite that measures the failure rate rather than assuming it away.
Who owns the code and the models?
You do. Source, prompts, evaluation sets and documentation are delivered to your repositories as we build, not at the end.

Multi-step automation where the interesting risk is not what the agent says but what it does. We build the guardrails first.

Retrieval-augmented assistants that respect the permissions of the systems underneath, cite what they used, and decline when the answer is not there.

Model choice is the easy part. We design and build the platform layer — data access, identity, evaluation, observability, cost control — that everything else depends on.
